Welcome to my site! I am a professional writer and editor residing in Northern California. I was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and spent my high school years in Sacramento. I now live in the same Sierra Nevada foothill town where my Italian, Irish and Yugoslavian ancestors settled four generations ago.
I have more than twenty years of combined experience as a writer and editor for technical, business, and creative projects. I am highly adept at creating and organizing compelling and relatable content for businesses and professional organizations, with a deep understanding of audience, tone, and purpose. As a former high school English teacher, I bring a strong grasp of the writing process and story structure to all relevant projects. Other favorite things: writing speeches, wedding vows, radio ad copy, and obituaries.
Personal blog projects include Amador Food & Review and the Surreal Housewife (found on this website).
As the owner of Lucke Writing & Editing Services, I pride myself on saying yes to projects for just about any audience or purpose. I am a nimble and detail-oriented wordsmith who excels at weaving a touch of humanity into technical projects and conversely, incorporating technical aspects/authority into creative projects. Balance = perfection.
I work closely with a variety of media and communication professionals, including graphic designers, printers, and website developers. So if you are looking for a new website or want to rehab an existing one, or need graphic design or logo help, I can refer you to professionals, local and beyond, with whom I have worked personally and trust completely.
My personal projects include a memoir — We’re Moving (in progress). My most recent personal project/creation, Amador Food & Review, is a creative outlet where my passion for food and cooking and fondness for critiquing the restaurant industry (which consumed 15+ years of my life), intersects with my passion for writing.
